I dream. I desire. Relentlessly. Passionately. Abundantly. My life is richer for it. What are your dreams? What are your deepest desires?
Do you think these desires have possibility in your life? Or, is the possibility a figment of your imagination? Do you have what it takes to manifest? I think you do. I think we all do. Inherent in our being-ness is the capacity to create and manifest.
I once believed that dreams were some irrelevant product of the imagination. An element of the mind whose function was to escape reality with fantasy. And fantasy, well…it was illegitimate. False. Inauthentic. Unrealistic. And, ironically (or not), this is how I used to view myself, as illegitimate, irrelevant; the nectar of life unattainable by little ‘ol me. At some point, this belief no longer worked for me. Governed by messages such as, "be realistic!", "that's impossible", "no way, not you!". I was tired of the shitty self-talk, the self-sabotaging, and living in a way where I was always "so close, yet so far" from the experience of joy and the possibility of my desires. I was tired of being "realistic". My lack of belief in my imagination and creativity, the stuff desire and dreams are made of, certainly had some correlation with the lack of joy in my life. It felt so restrictive. A victim to the ordinary. And, I couldn't just do ordinary.
Carl Gustav Jung, a Swiss Psychiatrist responsible for the birth of analytical psychology, In regard to the imaginative element of our being, says, “The debt we owe to the play of the imagination is incalculable”. This man developed a psychology that honors the imagination in many ways. Yet, here I was, for years, discounting mine. So, I've made a loving commitment to myself to be curious about, and explore the imaginative process. To allow the imagination to be a “doorway to perception” in terms of awakening to the richness and the incredible potency of life. And, to allow it to awaken me to unlimited possibility. Like Abraham Hicks says,"anything that you will some day live, you have first imagined. Because nothing will manifest in your experience without the imagination process happening first".
As I step into a newfound mercy for myself, a self-loving exchange with ME, my dreams and desires have more space to incubate. I'm learning to hold them in a sacred embrace as these dreams, once known as irrelevant whispers in the background of my mind, begin to re-emerge as real, legitimate, authentic, and relevant....As I re-emerge as real, legitimate, authentic, and relevant, and remind myself of the inherent right I have to source from the nectar of life.
As do you.
So, let’s dream big together. Let’s see the power of imagination flow into our lives and claim it’s place in our reality. Here's to manifesting our deepest desires! Because. IT. IS. POSSIBLE.
